GRIP Distribution Guidelines:
Compliance with Regulations:
Seeds will be distributed in strict adherence to relevant national and international regulations. Recipients must comply with legal agreements related to the access and use of genetic resources. Essential information,
including passport data and any pertinent legal agreements, will be meticulously documented in the Genetic Resources Information Platform (GRIP).
Acknowledgment in Reports/Publications:
Recipients of genetic materials are required to acknowledge [Your Organization/Institution]
(MAWARID) in their reports, publications, and any other public dissemination of research findings resulting from the use of distributed materials.
Seed Quality Maintenance:
Germplasm distribution will uphold high seed quality standards. To ensure this, seeds will be carefully packed and sealed in airtight envelopes for protection during transit.
Quantity Determination:
The quantity of seeds for distribution will be species-dependent and aligned with the intended purpose. For accessions with sufficient seed samples in gene banks, a minimum of 30-50 seeds will be supplied. In cases of inadequate seed quantities, samples will be provided after regeneration or multiplication.
Wild and Endangered Species:
For wild and endangered species, as well as those designated solely for research purposes, the size of the seed sample may be further reduced based on availability, in accordance with conservation efforts.
Sustainable Seed Management:
To address concerns about seed quantity or quality during distribution, indenters will be encouraged to multiply their own seed stock for subsequent use of the distributed germplasm. Providing a sufficient quantity of freshly harvested seeds to the gene bank is encouraged to enhance the availability and diversity of genetic resources.
Our commitment to these policies underscores our dedication to the ethical and sustainable management of genetic resources, fostering collaboration, and ensuring the long-term benefit of all stakeholders involved.
