Comment:
Barfuss & Till did not consider Tillandsia cyanea Linden ex K. Koch to be validly published and published Wallisia cyanea as a nom. nov. for T. lindenii K. Koch, which would make their name illegitimate because T. morreniana Regel provides the next earliest available epithet. However, T. cyanea was validly published in 1867 and although Barfuss & Till did not specify it as the basionym, they provided a full citation (Shenzhen ICN 41.5) and their publication of W. cyanea as a nom. nov. is correctable to a comb. nov. with a legitimate basionym (Shenzhen ICN 41.6 & Art. 6.14).
